After being treated to the visuals of Callisto Protocol, I can't help but feel a little disappointed with the graphics in the Dead Space remake. The graphics are excellent, but I have to say that Callisto Protocol set a very high bar for the graphics just a few months prior, despite being a worse game overall.
Doesn't make it bad, but the jump scares and set pieces are incredibly predictable this many years later. This is for better and for worse, while the game is a ton of fun, it is such an honest remake to which it really does feel like you're playing an Xbox 360 game in regard to the gameplay. All in all, its a very true remake to the original game. I appreciate how they managed to pull over all gameplay mechanics from the original game while subtly improving with some of the modern day finesse. They definitely kept the spirit of the original game fully present in this remake. Everything about this remake is very well designed and everything was crafted from the ground up. All in all, its a very true remake to the A remake done right.
